WWJD In Little Italy?

2009 March 26

The photography place around the corner from my house, Ferreira Photo Studio, is displaying both of the following in their window at present:

The first photo shows Little Italy’s most important VIPs: their ancestors, Jesus, and Princess Diana.  The second photo is self-explanatory.

That was the hand-written message on the bottom of the “gospel tract” [the printed page material that is needed for God’s people all around the world to fulfill His command] that I found on the streetcar. That’s not really the funny part. The funny part is that this particular tract is called The Blood and the front features a picture of a severed hand with a river of blood draining out of the wrist.

The Fellowship Tract League (a ministry of the Fellowship Baptist Church) has a website; unfortunately, the electronic version of The Blood is a lot more boring than the physical copy. So I thought I’d post some of the more interesting ones . . .

Today I decided it would be a good idea for me to try going to church.  I used to go all the time, but my interest has been waning the last couple of years.

Anyway, there’s a church right around the corner from my house.  Actually, following the mass, I found out there are actually 2 churches – right across the street from one another.  Both Catholic.  Obviously; I live between Little Italy and the Portugal Village.  So I step into the church right on time and realize that the service is actually IN PORTUGUESE. The entire service.  Not only am I the only anglophone there, I’m also among the few people who don’t have either jet-black or snow-white hair, and, at 6’1″, I’m about 4″ bigger than the next tallest person in the place.

I’ll probably go next week too.  Maybe I’ll try the church across the street, though.
